Continuing the marketing partnership between State Farm insurance and the National Basketball Association (NBA), this iAd for the iPhone promotes the upcoming 2011 NBA All-Star event in Los Angeles with a sweepstakes. On launch, it starts a high energy video of recent NBA All Star moments. Using the iPhone’s GPS and accelerometer technology that locates a person’s location/position, users can navigate a continuum of key moments from past All-Star games towards the pending edition at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, the entry point to the sweepstakes. By selecting the right combination of words of the State Farm jingle, users unlock entry to a variety of NBA All-Star prizes. Selecting the basketball icon takes users back to the home screen. By rotating their iPhone in the opposite direction of the continuum, users are offered select video clips from past NBA All-Star games-moments that act to foreshadow the upcoming edition.
